Some Questions To Change Your Life
10 litmus tests to develop clarity
Hello,
Sometimes, all it takes to have a very clear view of things is to ask a sharp question.
I came up with a few such questions that you can ask yourself.
The idea is to become a clear thinker.
It’s to take a deeper, harder look at your life, work, psychology, and desires.
So instead of answers, this week I’ll be throwing at you some interesting questions. Questions that you were never asked to answer.
So take the 8-10 minutes you’d spend on reading these Sunday mind-gasms, top them up with a generous 8-10 mins more, and use them to think.
(And don’t let modernity’s war on thinking let you slide away from this difficult exercise).
If you could swap your life with that of any living person (a celeb, influencer, entrepreneur- whatever), would you do it? If yes, why?
If you had all the money in the world, would you continue with the job/business you have? If not, what would you do?
List down some of the top things or experiences you really want to buy. Now ask yourself- would you still buy them if you could never tell a single person in the world about it?
If you’re dating (or married to) someone, list down the things (in order of priority) that you like the most about them. Now ask yourself- how many of these things are external and ephemeral and can be snatched away by time or misfortune, and how many of these are internal and enduring?
Did the last piece of content you consumed improve you or enrich your life in any way?
Think about a few decisions you are going to make or may have made recently. How much will the consequences of these decisions matter in the next 10 days, 10 months, and 10 years? And was the time and energy you put into them proportional to the timeframe in which their impact will be felt?
Have you changed your mind about anything significant in the last few years?
For every strongly held opinion you have, who shaped that opinion? What are their incentives? And under what conditions will you be willing to abandon that opinion?
What games will you never be tired of playing? What games do you live for?
And lastly: how much time did you spend on those games this week?
I hope you spend at least 10 minutes thinking about those 10 questions.
If you have any lightbulb moments and feel like sharing your thoughts, feel free to share them with me.
And if enough people say they want my take on what the answers to these litmus tests imply and how to build one’s life around them, I might just write a follow-up piece.

Would love your take.
